Story

An American television crew travels to Hanuda, a remote Japanese mountain village that mysteriously vanished decades earlier, hoping to document its dark history. When they witness a grisly ritual sacrifice, everything unravels: an eerie siren sounds, the village is severed from the outside world, and the dead rise as shambling corpse-creatures called the shibito.
